Finger Strength

Like usual, I've been doing a lot of knitting. It's starting to really affect my fingers; I'M GETTING CALLUSES! hahaha. oh well. As long as my fingers are painted, that's all I care about.

What I've been knitting:

Finger-less Gloves! :]

Hand towel :]

Other then knitting those two projects I've been working hard at work and its paying off! Jeremiah and I both got the option to move to a different department where we'd both work the same days and same hours (which is GREAT for our budget) and we'd get 3 days off a week.

Oh, did I mention that moving departments means that we'll be getting a 5% raise? Holla!

This is the most adorable picture of Jere and Charlie <3
Short and sweet blog. Hey, I'm watching 'Pretty Little Liars' :)

June...

apparently June was not a month in my calendar this year. I wasn't even busy, really. Just the usual: knitting, nails, reading, drinking coffee, and working. I've got some FUN projects that I finished!! (Two of them I created and the other one I borrowed).

These two are ones that I just felt the urge to create something and I ADORE them!

My winter cowl!

Close Up
I created the winter cowl from an idea I got online but I decided to change it. After knitting all those dish clothes I was kind of burnt out on them, so I decided to make something to help sooth the Idaho winters. Its one of my absolute favorite colors and in the close up you can see the difference in the two 'heather greys' I picked out. The darker grey was by Red Heart (I don't usually like this brand's colors but this one is an exception) and the lighter grey is a wool from I believe Lion Brand? This cowl was easy to knit; heavy as I got further into it, but a favorite none the less. I'll be wearing this a lot this winter and fall!!

This is NOT supposed to be sideways.

Hey double-chin, How you doin'? :]
I love this cowl!! (I have a think for them, can't you tell ;]). My work is by Michael's and my coworker and I decided to go there on our lunch break. Our lunch is only a half hour so we were in a hurry. We went to the sale section and picked out the skeins that caught our eyes and this is the one I grabbed. It was called 'sombrero' and I know it was a sock weight but I don't remember this yarns' manufacturer's name either... oops.

With the sock weight yarn, I didn't know what to make but I LOVED the colors. It was cold when I got back to work (my work is either hot or cold) so I just grabbed my SIZE 11 NEEDLES and started making this. I'm used to knitting with cotton so this was a big adjustment with the smaller thread. I used the entire skein to finish this and every time I wear it I get compliments. And then I get to brag and tell them I did not buy it anywhere.... but that's a different story. More to come soon, Jeremiah is making breakfast :] YUMMY!
